The Molasses Flood has now formally been merged into The Witcher 4 developer CD Projekt, which acquired the studio behind The Flame within the Flood again in 2021. The transfer means TMF has ceased working as a separate authorized entity to CDPR, however one in all its co-founders reckons it is a good one for the studio, and that the Witcher spin-off it is engaged on has a “very vibrant future”.

“We wish to let that on April 1, 2025, The Molasses Flood LLC (‘TMF’) merged with CD PROJEKT RED Inc. (‘CDPR Inc.’), an organization being part of the CD PROJEKT Group,” reads a discover on The Molasses Flood’s web site (thanks, Sport Developer), which confirms the transfer CD Projekt introduced could be coming throughout its newest earnings name.

“Because of the merger TMF, in its former authorized state (of a separate authorized entity) ceased its operations, whereas CDPR Inc. assumed the rights and obligations of TMF. The merger is not going to have an effect on the provision or distribution of ‘The Flame in The Flood’ and ‘Drake Hole’ video video games, which can proceed to be printed by CD PROJEKT Group.”

As a part of the merger The Molasses Flood co-founder Damian Isla has opted to depart the studio, however in a prolonged LinkedIn put up about that call, he appears fairly bullish on the merger being constructive information for each the studio and Mission Sirius.

“Tucked away in one of many current CD Projekt Purple earnings calls was the announcement that The Molasses Flood, the studio I co-founded with a few of my ex-Irrational pals, was to be absorbed into CDPR correct,” Isla wrote, “To be extremely clear: it is a GOOD AND HEALTHY factor for the studio, and it was long-expected. It breaks down some organizational boundaries, and higher integrates the TMF crew with the remainder of the wonderful CDPR org.

“General, it reveals a really vibrant future for Mission Sirius (aka ‘the multiplayer Witcher recreation,’ of which I used to be the Design Director for 3 years),” he added, “It’ll be a tremendous recreation, one for the books, and I can’t wait till the remainder of the world learns about what we have been engaged on.”

This is hoping Isla’s predictions do come true, as a result of as of 2023, Mission Sirius seemed to be navigating some fairly turbulent growth waters, with each a challenge reset and reportedly some layoffs in consequence. CD Projekt’s newest earnings presentation from late final month listed Sirius as being within the pre-production section.
